Community Hosts Memorial to Remember Coronado Navy SEAL

Chief Special Warfare Operator Bradley Cavner, 31, died as a result of injuries he suffered in a training exercise on June 23.

On Sunday, family and friends gathered at Coronado High School to remember Navy SEAL Bradley Cavner. 

Cavner died in a parachute training accident on June 23 in El Centro. He joined the service in February 2003 and has served with West Coast-based SEAL units since August 2004.

Besides the bronze star, he was awarded medals for service in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the global war on terrorism, and won various other commendations and ribbons. 

He is survived by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
