Retired SEAL Leader Reflects on His Navy Career

Colorado resident Franklin Anderson, former head of command at the SEAL training center, now raises horses and cattle.

The Colorado rancher, 77, served from 1956-77, ending his career as commander of the Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training center in Coronado. Prior to that post, he headed SEAL Team 1.

He cycled through other assignments, including the Pentagon and the command that oversaw operations in the Pacific.
