Caroline Haines Selected Coronado Realtor of Year

Lee Mather Company Realtor

Receives Prestigious Honor

CORONADO – It wasn’t an Oscar or a Grammy, but you would never know that from the look on Caroline Haines’ face at the recent Coronado Real Estate Association (CREA) awards luncheon, when they presented her with Realtor of the Year honors. Haines represents Lee Mather Co., Realtors (LMCo). The prestigious award is given in recognition of cooperation, ethics, integrity and community service.

“This was a complete surprise to me. I attended the luncheon to support the industry and my peers, but had no idea I was going to receive this,” said Haines. “As I accepted the award, I was beet red and speechless, with no thank you speech. That’s me,” she laughed. “But, what an incredible honor. I’ve always supported CREA and believe strongly in their role in the community. I am so blessed to receive this award.”

Although she has been in the industry for 27 years, the CREA presentation marks Haines’ first full year in the Coronado real estate market. She left behind a 20-year career in sales with Laguna Beach Coldwell Banker and ownership in Laguna Escrow Services to return home to Coronado and set up shop last year. She joined LMCo as a Sales Agent/Realtor.

“You can find Caroline on any given Saturday or Sunday, manning the floor at Lee Mather Co.” said Mike Herlihy, partner at LMCo.  “We are so pleased to see her being honored in such a way. Caroline is a perfect example of ‘need something done? Ask a busy person,’” said Herlihy.

A graduate of Coronado High School (class of ‘74) and fourth generation Coronadan, Haines was taught at an early age to support her community. “I’ve always found a way to be involved in my community, no matter where I lived,” she said. That dedication to community prompted Haines to create the Inaugural Coronado Pet Parade and Chili Cook-off, benefitting PAWS (where she also works as a volunteer). The event has grown to be extremely popular.

Haines is a board member at the Coronado Senior Center and serves on the Residential Standards Improvement Project board for the city of Coronado. She is also active with the ladies at the Coronado Golf Course.

“Caroline embodies the Lee Mather Co. ethic of a welcoming spirit, a vast knowledge of the industry and community, and old fashioned hard work,” said Debbie Riddle, Partner at LMCo. “We are very proud of her receiving this award, and especially pleased that she is part of our family here at LMCo.”
