Nelson Top Agent-2012 at Lee Mather Co., Realtors

Lee Mather Co., Realtors announces Top Agent for 2012. Award reflects changing Coronado Real Estate market.

The real estate market made noticeable gains in 2012. There were 281 homes sold in Coronado last year, marking a 15% increase over the previous year. Local Real Estate analysts describe it as, “a distinct eagerness in the market.”

James Nelson, of Lee Mather Co., Realtors (LMCo), was at the vanguard of sales locally. As a result of his hard work and sales success, Nelson has been presented the Top Agent Award for 2012 at LMCo.

“It was an incredible year,” said Nelson from his desk at LMCo. “It was incredible both for the market as a whole, and for my career.”

Nelson walked into a job at LMCo three years ago without a serious real estate background. Debbie Riddle, a partner at LMCo, spotted something special about him and invited Jim specifically to be part of her personal sales team.

“It was clear the moment I met Jim that he had an unusual focus and was very clear about his objectives in life,” said Riddle. “He has a tremendous work ethic and has rapidly become a major player in this industry. I couldn’t be happier to see him receive our Top Agent Award.”

Nelson is quick to thank his mentor. “I couldn’t have done any of this without the incredible support of my sales partner, Debbie Riddle,” he said. “The awards and accolades are wonderful, but none of that would have been possible without her support and friendship.

“Receiving the Top Agent Award just confirms that if you work hard, and have a goal in mind worth achieving, and you apply the principals that have been successful in the past, you can achieve great results,” said Nelson. “I didn’t invent this wheel, but I sure do enjoy using it.”

Nelson, who spends his spare time playing tennis, surfing and snow skiing, hails originally from Ventura, California. The former Eagle Scout learned quickly what a special place Coronado is. “The people here are very friendly and extremely genuine,” he said. “This is such an architecturally diverse community and has so much history, and I’ve had a great time assimilating that history. I can’t get enough.”

Nelson also serves on the Board of Directors at the Coronado Tennis Association and is in charge of the men’s competition ladder. Two years ago the 29-year-old met the love of his life, and they are scheduled to be married at the Coronado Community Center August 31.
