Buddy Up

One of my guy’s favorite things to do is get up early and go surfing with his friends before heading to work.  He feels like he gets a bit of adventure and exercise in before he dons his adult responsibilities and that sets a positive tone for the rest of his day.

Something that’s so cool about this is that he always meets his dudes for this morning surf. From a health perspective, having a partner in crime to share your health goals with has many benefits.

First off, you are less likely to hit the snooze button if you know someone else will send you snide text messages if you blow them off for pillow time (I mean really, how many times can you use the ‘didn’t sleep well last night’ excuse)?

Secondly, having a partner adds a social component to what could otherwise be a dreary affair – the morning workout.  That partner solidarity can also come in handy when you are trying to dodge cheese and booze at happy hour.

If you’re making serious changes to your lifestyle in pursuit of greater health, having a supporting partner can make all the difference.  This can be your significant other…or not!  Surround yourself with people who share your goals and good things will happen!
