The San Diego County Veterans Day Parade is one of the city’s largest events honoring San Diego men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Veteran organizations, band and pageantry units, community organizations, and elected officials will walk, dance and ride in cars and on floats down the Pacific Highway parade route, between Cedar Street and G Street. Spectators are encouraged to line the parade route to interact with San Diego veterans and participating groups – there is no cost to attend.

Maj. Gen. Charles (Chuck) Elwood Yeager, pilot of the first recorded flight to break the sound barrier, will serve as the 2012 Grand Marshal of the Parade.  The parade also marks the 65th anniversary of Maj. Gen. Yeager’s breaking of the sound barrier.

Location: Pacific Highway between Cedar Street and G Street

Cost: Free; spectators are encouraged to line the parade route to interact with San Diego veterans and participating groups.

This is a great event. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make it a fun and enrichingRead More experience for my family. We need to get the word out about this helpful event in Coronado for the future. It was a learning experience for children and adults alike. I feel better now with my daughter riding her bike on the busy streets of Coronado. Thanks again to all of the Police Officers, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts and local volunteers.
