Back by popular demand after a long absence is the annual ”Kids Thanksgiving Movie,” and this year it will be Arthur Christmas.

The Optimist Club of Coronado, whose motto is “Friend of Youth,” has adopted this old-time Coronado tradition once sponsored by the Active 20-30 Club of Coronado.

Doors open at 9:30 a.m. with free showing at 10 a.m. Adults are welcome with their kids .

Former Active 20-30 Club Member and current Optimist Club member Michel Napolitano still remembers those good old days.

“My Dad, then a member of 20-30, used to rally the kids here in town and get them out of the kitchen so our moms could get our turkey and dressing ready to go. I am so glad we could bring this Coronado tradition back through our new friend and owner of Village Theatres, Lance Alspaugh.”

This is a great event. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make it a fun and enrichingRead More experience for my family. We need to get the word out about this helpful event in Coronado for the future. It was a learning experience for children and adults alike. I feel better now with my daughter riding her bike on the busy streets of Coronado. Thanks again to all of the Police Officers, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts and local volunteers.
