CoSA presents "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)"

Editor's Note: CoSA changed its matinee performance from Sunday, Feb. 2 to Saturday, Feb. 1 at 2 p.m. This means there will be two shows that day.

San Diego loves its Shakespeare: The Old Globe puts together a fantastic summer festival each year, ion and Cygnet Theatres regularly feature his plays and the English Speaking Union holds a competition locally every year. So why shouldn’t Willy Shakes hop the bridge to Coronado?

On Jan. 31, “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)” will open at Coronado School of the Arts for a limited two weekend engagement. Reduced Shakespeare Company’s silly play is not for high-brow theatre-goers. Au contraire, the jokes and puns are most authentic to Shakespeare’s day, as our cast of players tries to cram all 38 plays into a 90 minute show! From wacky slapstick to over-the-top melodrama, this compilation of Shakespeare’s greatest will be sure to split your sides from “hither” to “yon”!
