CoSA presents A Holiday Music Recital

                ‘Tis
the season to tap your toes to those old-time holiday tunes. The CoSA
Instrumental Music Conservatory along with the CHS Band and Choir will be
performing on Tuesday December 10th at 7 pm in the CHS Performing
Arts Center.

CoSA’s
Instrumental Music Conservatory has packed the Black Box theatre with their
Fall Recital and last spring with their Collaboration with the Kingston Trio
and Coronado Historical Society. Student performers have been featured at
events around the island, including CoSA’s Fiesta Night, a presentation to the
school board and gatherings at private homes.

Coronado
High School’s Band and Choir, as well as CoSA’s Instrumental Music conservatory
have won multiple awards, both from the State and on a national level.  They were most recently awarded the National Association of Music Merchants’ (NAMM)
Musical Merit Award in 2013.  Faculty

member Kathryn Hatmaker (strings) was also recently featured in the San Diego Union
Tribune Night & Day supplement
. Matt Heinecke, Band Director and Chair of
the Instrumental Music Conservatory, says of the program “Our students have
been working so hard this semester and it really shines through in this program.
It won’t be a ‘cookie cutter’ holiday program, instead showcasing unique pieces
alongside holiday classics, but it’s sure to be enjoyable for everyone!”
