Coronado Resident with Cerebral Palsy to Share Story of Climbing Yosemite's El Capitan

Stephen Wampler, the first person with cerebral palsy to reach the top of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park in 2010, will share his inspirational story at the San Diego AccessAbilities Expo.  

Stephen, who is in a wheelchair, hopes his story will encourage other people with physical disabilities not to give up.  

The expo is free and will be held on Sunday, Feb. 16, from Noon to 5 p.m., at the Paradise Point Resort & Spa Conference Center on Mission Bay.

More than 26 vendors, including social services agencies from San Diego County, will demonstrate products and provide valuable information on such topics as legal conservatorship, wheelchair sports and the Canine Companions for Independence program.  

Joseph Valenzano the President and CEO of Exceptional Parent Magazine will serve as the keynote speaker.

The AccessAbilities Expo is sponsored by the Rehabilitation Medicine program at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego.
