According to Melanie Palm, M.D., board-certified dermatologist, founder of Art of Skin MD and member of The Skin Cancer Foundation’s prestigious Amonette Circle, engaging the community about the importance of skin cancer detection is essential. “Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States,” said Dr. Palm. “More than 3.5 million skin cancers in over two million people are diagnosed annually and each year there are more new cases of skin cancer than the combined incidence of cancers of the breast, prostate, lung and colon.”
