Art of Skin MD to Hold 4th Annual “SolSearch” Event on May 1 to Raise 
Awareness about Early Skin Cancer Detection and Raise Essential Funding for the Skin Cancer Foundation 
Free Skin Cancer Screenings also Available on Saturday, April 26th at Art of Skin MD 

In recognition of May being Melanoma Awareness Month, Art of Skin MD in Solana Beach, will hold its 4th Annual “SolSearch” benefit event on May 1, at 5:30 p.m., at Beachwalk Center, located at 437 S. Highway 101, Solana Beach. The annual community event is designed to raise awareness about early skin cancer detection and treatment, as well as raise essential funding for the Skin Cancer Foundation. Free Skin Cancer Screenings will also be available on Saturday, April 26th at Art of Skin MD.

SolSearch is highly festive evening event that unites the community, retailers in the Beachwalk Center, as well as businesses throughout North County to raise tens of thousands of dollars for the Skin Cancer Foundation.  The event will feature live music by highly-acclaimed acoustic duo Ottopilot, luxury raffle prizes, a silent auction, food samplings from local vendors and lead Sponsor California Pizza Kitchen, and an open bar.

Art of Skin MD will be holding a special pre-sale on tickets starting April 1st by calling 858-792-7546.Tickets are $25 each and can also be purchased starting April 15th through co-sponsor San Diego Tidbits by visiting www.artofskinmd.com/solsearch2014. The first 100 tickets sold will also include a much-coveted Art of Skin MD swag bag, which includes a $9 per unit for Botox voucher.

According to Melanie Palm, M.D., board certified dermatologist, founder of Art of Skin MD and an official ambassador of the Skin Cancer Foundation, engaging the community about the importance of skin cancer detection is essential. “Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States,” said Dr. Palm. “More than 3.5 million skin cancers in over two million people are diagnosed annually and each year there are more new cases of skin cancer than the combined incidence of cancers of the breast, prostate, lung and colon.”
