Will Rain Dampen Carrier Classic?

After a wet weekend, Coronado and the region could see another storm Friday, the day the men's college basketball game is scheduled aboard the USS Vinson.

Another possible winter storm system is expected to pass through San
Diego Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.

That means it could affect the highly anticipated Carrier Classic match-up between the North Carolina and Michigan State men's basketball teams.

It would also kick off another weekend of damp weather.

Rain arrived in nearly all of San Diego County by noon Sunday,
and  a winter weather advisory was issued in the Laguna Mountains. A smattering of snow fell overnight in Julian, at the 4,225 foot elevation.

A low pressure storm that brought over a half-inch of rain to parts of
Los Angeles County was responsible, bringing light to
moderate rain and 3 to 5 inches of snow to mountain areas above the 4000 to
4500 feet elevations, the weather service said.
