This is Spring?!? Chilly Days Ahead

The last storms of winter have blown through, but keep your coats handy.

After all the rain and snow of the last three days prepare for a frosty few days in the region, just in time for Tuesday's arrival of spring.

Since early Saturday, the blustery system out of the Gulf of Alaska has kept the county chilled, soaked, icy and wind-whipped, creating conditions usually associated with December or January, not mid-March.

Aside from the notable precipitation, resulted in several local temperature records.

San Diego tied its March 19 record of 58 degrees. Oceanside Harbor and Palomar Mountain experienced their lowest thermometer readings – 55 and 36 degrees, respectively – for the date.

A slight warming trend is expected to kick in Tuesday and continue Wednesday, but that's it. Thursday will bring cooler temperatures and increasing clouds that could generate light rain Sunday and early next week, forecasters said.
