Presidential Candidate Huntsman in Coronado

The former Utah governor visits Glorietta Bay Inn with CNN's Piers Morgan, who's preparing a segment about him.

Coronado has played host to a number of presidents and presidential candidates. This time it's Jon Huntsman.

Huntsman, who's running for the Republican Party's nomination, accompanied CNN host Piers Morgan to the Friday. Cameramen shot the former Utah governor playing piano in the hotel's famed Music Room, said the inn's general manager Claudia Ludlow.

It was a short visit, Ludlow's staff told her, no more than 10 or 15 minutes. Morgan tweeted about it, promoting his Monday interview with Huntsman: “Watching @JonHuntsman playing superb jazz piano after he spoke to me in fluent Mandarin earlier. Not so boring after all? Airs Mon, CNN 9pm.”

Morgan also was shown on Wolf Blitzer's Friday show standing in front of the Hotel del Coronado. Morgan recounted the controversial appearance of former Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell, who walked off his show this week.

Huntsman finished near the bottom in the Aug. 13 Iowa Straw Poll, won by Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota.

Huntsman is known as a Coronado fan, so can we expect more visits during the campaign? We'll soon see.
