High Surf to Continue Through Saturday
Surf conditions that have been building this week to really be in evidence beginning late Thursday and continuing through Saturday morning.
High surf will pound the San Diego County coastline Thursday, bringing with it dangerous rip currents and a possibility of flooding, forecasters said.
The surf will build late in the evening, reaching 6 to 10 feet, with sets up to 12 feet through Saturday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

A high surf advisory and coastal flooding advisory are scheduled to be in effect from 10 p.m. today to 4 p.m. Saturday.
A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches, producing rip currents and beach erosion.

"Inexperienced surfers and swimmers should stay out of the water. Those who wish to enter the water should only do so when lifeguards are present," the Weather Service advised.
A coastal flood advisory means that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding in low areas along the shore.
