A Farewell Letter from the Editor

The editor of Coronado Patch bids adieu to Crown City and ushers in her replacement.

Dear Coronado,

This will be my last official post as editor of Coronado Patch. My personal life is taking me to the East Coast, where I’ll continue to write, among other pursuits.

Saying goodbye is bittersweet. It has been my honor and privilege to serve this community.

Thank you for your openness and your trust.

Rest assured, I am leaving you in good hands. A new local editor will begin next week. Her name is Jennifer Vigil. She is a seasoned journalist who will surely bring a great deal to the site and the community.

Jennifer has worked for such notable publications as the Chicago Tribune and the Long Beach Press-Telegram. She also spent nearly a decade at The San Diego Union-Tribune, where she covered City Hall, social services and the South Bay.

More importantly, while Jennifer was at the U-T, she spent several years covering the City of Coronado. Some of you may remember her from that time.

Please feel free to contact Jennifer with your questions and story ideas. I know she is eager to get started, and I’m sure she’ll appreciate hearing from you. Her email address is jennifer.vigil@patch.com.

I hope Patch will continue to grow and stay a trusted source of community news.

Coronado will always hold a special place in my heart. I have family and friends who live here, and many fond memories …

Thank you again for allowing me to peer into your lives and load up on your browsers!

Farewell (for now).

Kimberly Cunningham
