Feasting at the fair does not have to been sweet or savory—it can be both with bacon cotton candy. This smokey and slightly salty twist on a classic is new this year at the San Diego County Fair.
The brownish-pink coloring is surprising, but the taste and texture are just what you expect... fluffy, sticky and sweet with a touch of bacon flavor.
You can find the bacon cotton candy at Odyssey in the infield.
If bacon cotton candy doesn't satisfy your tastebud's need for sweet and salty flavor, bacon beer and Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joes are also being served at the fair.
The San Diego County Fair runs June 8 through July 4 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The Fairgrounds are located at 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd., Del Mar.
