Wine & Lecture: 'The Hotel del Coronado: 125 Years of History'

Lecture by local Hotel del Coronado historian and author, Christine Donovan

Christine Donovan, Director of Heritage Programs at the Hotel del Coronado, will discuss her stunning new book, “Hotel del Coronado History” in a free lecture at the Coronado Historical Association on Friday, April 12, from 5:30 - 7pm. This is the sixth book Donovan has published about the Hotel, where she has worked since the early 1990s.

In her book of more than 440 never-before-seen photos, Donovan illustrates how the resort has changed over the years, including discussions of its construction, Tent City and the hotel’s famous guests, from Hollywood celebrities to the ghost of Kate Morgan.  Books will be available for purchase and author signings.

Donovan is also author of “Building the Dream: The Design and Construction of the Hotel del Coronado,” “Wish You Were Here: Vintage Postcards from the Hotel del Coronado,” “Celebrating Over a Century of Romance at the Hotel del Coronado: Engagements, Weddings, Honeymoons and Anniversaries,” “Beautiful Stranger: The Ghost of Kate Morgan and the Hotel del Coronado,” and “The Loveliest Hotel You Can Imagine: A Child’s View of the Hotel del Coronado.”
