Top Dog: Loews Coronado Named Among Best Pet Friendly Hotels

Loews Coronado Bay Resort has been chosen from hotels around the country to be part of a group of finalists for 10 Best Readers' Choice in the Best Pet Friendly Hotels category.

The premium list of 20 pet-friendly hotels was chosen by author and pet lover Kelly E. Carter.

People are invited to vote for their favorite pet-friendly hotel on the 10Best.com website. 10Best.com is a division of USA Today Travel.

Loews has a surf dog instructor and menu for dog room service, Carter said.

"Loews Loves Pets program also showers four-legged guests with amenities and the hotel has a dog-friendly restaurant, plus offers pet-walking and pet-sitting services," she said in her explanation for why she selected Loews to be part of the list.

With its annual Loews Surf Dog Competition, the hotel quite possibly created the largest event in the world of its kind. Through sponsors, donations and entry fees, Loews has raised tens of thousands of dollars for American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. More than 3,000 people attended this year's competition.
