Uh-oh: Gas Prices Head Back Up, After Weeks of Consecutive Drops

Gas prices rise for three consecutive days after a nearly two-month streak of decreases.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline rose Sunday for the third consecutive day after dropping 56 times in the previous 57 days. The price increased 1.4 cents to $3.708.

The average price fell to its lowest amount since Jan. 4 on Thursday, then rose seven-tenths of a cent on Friday and 1.1 cents on Saturday, according to figures from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.

The three consecutive increases have pushed the average price 1.8 cents above what it was one week ago in San Diego County. However, it is 28.7 cents less than one month ago and 8.8 cents lower than one year ago.
