Pretty Please Fashion boutique is bringing its eighth shop to Coronado!
Shelly and Dave Van Der Linden are the power couple behind the successful line of trendy and affordable clothing shops straddling San Diego and Arizona.
Five years ago, after surviving a bout with breast cancer, Shelly wanted to do something fun and upbeat that would be helpful to women. She came up with the idea of providing tasteful, yet reasonably priced clothes that would please girls ages 15 years and up.
This approach to the retail clothing business has been working well for the entrepreneur couple since they opened their first store in 2007 at the Del Mar Highland Town Center.
But Shelly's support of women extends well beyond the colorful racks of clothes she personally selects for her stores. She likes to get involved in the community, and will be offering a variety of ways to lend a hand in local fundraising events for schools and community programs.
Barbara Horwitz is spearheading the company's community outreach, and believes the owners make every effort to make sure they have items to accommodate a range of budgets.
“Our best-selling items are the Just USA Jeans. We sell about 145 pairs a month at our Del Mar store,” she said of the $49 denims.
Another key aspect of this distinctive clothing business is the assortment of merchandise it offers. “We want this to be a one-stop shopping experience for residents – a place where girlfriends, mothers, and daughters can have a fun time while shopping,” Barbara added.
Pretty Please Fashion has put the finishing touches on the new space, site of the former Calikites store. The Van Der Lindens expect to have a grand opening after a soft open.
Pretty Please Fashion has stores locally in Hillcrest, Del Mar, Carlsbad and
Carmel Mountain Ranch, and in Glendale and Scottsdale, in Arizona.
