Gas Prices Jumping Again

Over the weekend, the amount paid per gallon rose at a higher rate than it has in nearly three months.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose 3 cents over the weekend to $4.337, after increasing 8.6 cents over the past two days.

The sharp increases stem from record low gasoline inventories and continued refinery issues, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.

The average price is 11.6 cents more than a week ago, 8.2 cents higher than one month ago and 10.7 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
