Gas Prices Finally Begin to Slip

After nearly two weeks of daily increases, prices fell Sunday and Monday.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County fell seven-tenths of a cent Monday to $4.151, the largest daily decrease since July 2.

The average price is one-tenth of a cent more than one week ago, 15.9 cents higher than one month ago and 17.9 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

A stretch of 11 increases in 12 days ended Sunday with a decrease of one- tenth of a cent.
