Gas Prices Continue to Slip Following Early October Spike

The average price has dropped 85 cents over the past several weeks.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County has decreased for the 34th consecutive day, falling eight-tenths of a cent to $3.867, its lowest amount since Aug. 5.

The average price has dropped 85.8 cents over the past 34 days, including 1.7 cents on Saturday, after rising 54.7 cents over the previous six days to a record high of $4.725 on Oct. 8, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 12.1 cents less than one week ago and 83.6 cents lower than one month ago, but 2.2 cents more than one year ago.
