Gas Prices Continue on Downward Trend After Price Spike

The average price in the county has fallen 20 cents over the past 11 days, including 2.7 cents Thursday,

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County fell 4.2 cents Friday to $4.525, the largest drop in 11 consecutive days of declines. 

The average price countywide has declined 20 cents over the past 11 days, including 2.7 cents on Thursday, after rising 54.7 cents over the previous six days to a record high of $4.725, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 16.2 cents less than one week ago, but 39.8 cents more than one month ago and 64.1 cents higher than one year ago.

“Oil industry analysts reported significant drops in the wholesale market on Wednesday which, if they hold, should bring prices well below $4 a gallon,” said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California. “The only question is how quickly that will happen.”

We need to get the word out about this helpful event in Coronado for the future. It was a learning experience for children and adults alike. I feel better now with my daughter riding her bike on the busy streets of Coronado. Thanks again to all of the Police Officers, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts and local volunteers.
