11th Annual Coronado Peacemaker Awards Ceremony

It's time again for the annual evening celebration in honor of this year's Coronado peacemakers who serve as role models for and bridge differences in the community each day.

Awards to be handed out to those who “value, model, and promote peace” and help resolve conflicts include:

  • “The Optimist Young Peacemaker Award” to an elementary or middle school student or recognized group of students.
  • “The James Richard Shirey, Jr. Memorial Peacemaker Award” to a Coronado High School student or recognized group of students.
  • “Coronado Chamber of Commerce Peacemaker Award” to an individual or entity in the Coronado business community.
  • “The Rotary Peacemaker Award”  to a  civic-minded volunteer (individual or group) who substantially and verifiably contributes to improving communication in organizations or the community at large.
  • “Sybil Stockdale Peacemaker Award” to an individual who is active duty military and stationed in Coronado.
  • “Community Peacemaker Award” to a public servant – pastor, coach, teacher, counselor, police officer, fireman, etc.
  • “The Coronado Peacemaker Award” to a family member, acquaintance, friend, neighbor, colleague, postal worker, grocery clerk, secretary, salesperson, restaurant server who lives or works in Coronado.
