Would you jump on the Silver Strand to get your burger fix?

Well, it's not just any burger. In-N-Out could come to Imperial Beach, the company's Vice President of Planning and Development Carl Van Fleet said Tuesday.

Van Fleet declined to specify where the company is considering a new location.

"I can say that we are looking at potential sites in the Imperial Beach-area but it is too early in the process to get much more specific than that," he said via email. "We are certainly interested in the area and would like to have a restaurant there in the future."

In-N-Out has 12 locations in San Diego County. The closest to Coronado are   in Point Loma and National City.

Several Imperial Beach residents thought In-N-Out was coming to IB after a Burger King in the 1100 block of Palm Avenue closed in 2011. In February 2012 Van Fleet said the company had no plans to open a new location in the community.
