"I want to say thank you to the police department for dealing with the crazies that end up down at the beach and lastly I want to say thank you to my dad for teaching me how to have an excellent attitude and work ethic," Goff said.

Josh Scarboro was named Firefighter of the Year.

Scarboro leads the fire department's burn camp benefits, chili cook-off for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and organizes open houses for the community.

"Josh is always and consistently taking a role in those so he's consistently out for the good of others," Blood said.

Scarboro thanked his family, co-workers, city and chamber for their continuing support.

"The only way you get something like this is being surrounded by good people," he said. "I obviously have to thank my wife because all that long, hard work she knows about and has to deal with."

A police officer who asked that his name not be used due to the sensitive nature of his work was named Officer of the Year.
