Saturday Morning Bridge Work to Continue Through 11 a.m.

Look for some delays as traffic at times is limited to one lane in each direction.

Caltrans workers will be conducting regularly scheduled maintenance on the San Diego-Coronado Bridge Saturday morning from 3-11 a.m., possibly leading to some delays.

The crews will paint permanent lane markings while cleaning and treating the bridge deck.

At least one lane in each direction will be open during work hours, though the Cesar E. Chavez and northbound Interstate 5 off-ramps will be closed during the project, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The detours, which apply only to incoming traffic:

  • Those going north on I-5 will be directed to the J Street off-ramp, and to the southbound I-5 to get to the bridge.
  • Those in the community of Logan Heights will be detoured to Kearney Avenue to the 19th Street north I-5 on-ramp. Then they follow the same detour to the southbound I-5 entry to the bridge.
