Don’t you just love it when the new season is on the horizon? Not only does it spell warmer weather but it also means a great chance to refresh and wake up your wardrobe.
As the new season trends land, it is the perfect time to give some thought to what to clear out and what to add to make your wardrobe work for you, with our style expertise of course!
As it heats up a little, your autumnal knits and jackets start to feel a little heavy and wintery. It’s as if the sun shows all the dust all of a sudden! So let’s brush it off and follow some of our fantastic tips to WAKE UP YOUR WARDROBE FOR SPRING.
COLOUR ME SPRING
There’s no escaping it this season, colour is EVERYWHERE! From sherbet pastels to metallics to candy brights and acid shades, this is the season to throw those colour fears out the window!
Neons are huge, think fluoro-yellow, candy pink and vibrant blue! Nod to this trend with a neon yellow bag or accessory teamed with black for a classy take.
THE colour is mint green, which adds such an air of sophistication and works beautifully teamed with gold.
Coloured jeans are a great new season staple and will feel lighter and fresher than darker heavy denims. These can work for all shapes and are easy to dress up or down with a simple tee and flats for the day or heels, a dressy top and blazer for night the colour will carry the look.
Colour doesn’t have to be scary and don’t feel like you have to drape yourself in neon yellow or peach from head-to-toe. Use colour as an accent to your outfit, through a great bag, jewellery or a coloured belt.
If you’re feeling a little more daring, colour-blocking is big news again this season, so have some fun and team your bright orange top with cerise skinny jeans! This will definitely liven up any look! Or why not try a neon yellow or lime green bag to lift a black outfit?
FLOWERS ARE IN BLOOM
Wake up your Spring wardrobe with a gorgeous floral print dress, top or even blazer.
Cute and feminine, florals are going to be everywhere. Why not try a floral corsage to lift a blazer or jacket or even add to a belt or scarf?
NAUTICAL BUT NICE
This Spring trend never dies and is having a revival this season. There are two danger areas with stripes, horizontal will widen the area they cover and in the wrong piece stripes can look a little frumpy, so it is all about how you wear them.
Use horizontal stripes on areas that are narrower to bring balance to your silhouette, so pear ladies should go for striped tops and avoid horizontal lines on the bottom area.
Don’t be afraid to mix a few stripes across your look for an edgy take or opt for a stripy tote, wedges or accessory for your nod to nautical.
