Meet Concert in the Park Pres. Bill Gise

Floyd Ross, founder of Coronado Promenade Concerts nonprofit organization, recently passed the position of president down to community patron Bill Gise.

Concerts in the park have been up and running in Coronado's since 1970, and in 2010 community members officially created the 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization Coronado Promenade Concerts (CPC).

Opening up the summer 2011 concert series on Memorial Day weekend, the mayor and CPC board of directors addressed the community with praise for its support and assurance of a great Sunday evening with the Coronado Community Concert Band.

Recently, Floyd Ross, founder of the CPC nonprofit, resigned as president of the organization—although he remains president emeritus and is still a very active member of the board. Taking Ross's place as president is Bill Gise, a longtime patron of the City of Coronado and past member on the CPC board of directors.
