Bite San Diego and Art Everywhere This Weekend

5 things to do in Coronado this weekend: live art demonstration, reading of books by local authors, purchase local art and, oh yes, bite San Diego.

There's a lot to do this weekend in Coronado. Be inspired by the arts, get an intimate reading of books by renowned authors or see a live demonstration. Or Bite San Diego. You can do that, too.

1. Art Under the Umbrellas brings together artists of different disciplines from 2-6 p.m. Saturday under the umbrellas of a restaurant at the Coronado Municipal Golf Course. Act of Valor author George Galdorisi, Jane Mitchell and other authors will read excerpts from their books. Appetizers and drinks will be served.

2. Bite San Diego comes to Coronado at 2 p.m. Saturday. The tour starts at restaurants at the Ferry Landing and proceeds down Orange Avenue toward the Hotel del Coronado. Tickets are available online.

3. Artist Kate McCavitt will hold a live art demonstration noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Art and Frames by Wood Gallery.

4. A piano and flute concert will be held at the library Friday from 7-8:30 p.m.

5. The U.S. Marine Corps band will play in at 6 p.m. Sunday in Spreckels Park as part of the Summer Concert Series
