‘Act of Valor's Hollywood Premiere

The red carpet gets a surprise as the Leap Frogs jump in to mark the West Coast debut of the SEAL movie.

Getting ready to see Act of Valor, the Navy SEAL action flick, when it opens in 10 days?

The folks behind the movie have hosted an East Coast premiere (aboard the USS Intrepid, according to the Navy SEALs' Twitter feed) and the West Coast debut, in Hollywood, took place Monday.

Tinseltown got to enjoy what we often do locally at sporting and other special events: a drop-in by the Leap Frogs, who landed in front of ArcLight Cinemas on Sunset Boulevard for the red carpet (see the birds-eye view of their jump in the media box).

The jump, incidentally, caused a bit of a freakout among some Hollywood denizens, among them pop star Katy Perry, who, along with several others, didn't know what the heck they were looking at.

Navy SEALS walked the red carpet, and were joined by the man of the moment, Denver Bronco Tim Tebow.

Here are three takes on the event, from wearemoviegeeks.com, with striking photos, UT-San Diego, and the Hollywood Reporter, with a behind-the-scenes look at how the film came to be.

"Act of Valor" includes some nice mini-shots of Seals surfing at the Imperial Beach Pier, the Life-Guard Tower and shots thru the IB pier to the Coronado Bridge.
