‘42nd Street’ Opens Friday at Playhouse

See the curtain rise on the musical hit at the Coronado Playhouse, accompanied by a buffet dinner.

 

A Broadway classic is coming to Coronado and you can catch the opening show Friday.

is the newest production at the . The play originally hit Broadway in 1980s and is the 12th longest running show in the history of the Great White Way.

The musical follows the story of Broadway hopefuls and actors, as they experience love, hard work and other trials and tribulations. 

The Playhouse’s version is directed by Chrissy Burns, with musical direction by Rick Shaffer. The show continues through March 4.

At the opening, guests can watch the first show and have a special dinner. The price, $50 per person, includes a buffet meal provided by Coronado’s Consummate Catering.

The night begins at 6:30 p.m. and the show follows at 8 p.m. You can buy tickets online or call the box office at 619-435-4856.

Regular show times are Thursday-Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Ticket prices are $20-$25 for adults, $18-$23 for seniors and students, and $15-$20 for military.

This is a great event. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make it a fun and enrichingRead More experience for my family. We need to get the word out about this helpful event in Coronado for the future. It was a learning experience for children and adults alike. I feel better now with my daughter riding her bike on the busy streets of Coronado. Thanks again to all of the Police Officers, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts and local volunteers.
