Video: Coronado Reacts to Prospect of Women Navy SEALs

The Pentagon is expected to announce Tuesday that women will be allowed to train to become Navy SEALs in 2016, according to reports from Associated Press. Other elite military forces are also expected to admit women candidates in the coming years.

CBS8 spoke to people on Orange Avenue in Coronado Monday to get their thoughts on the potential change.

Some believe women will not be able to endure the physical challenges and their presence could negatively impact unit cohesiveness. Others say if a women can get through BUD/S training that takes place in Coronado she should be able to become a Navy SEAL just like any male candidate.
