Week in Review: Bridge Work Begins

Traffic may back up, political lines are being re-drawn and the community hosted a sports fest.

Talk of the Spreckels mansion has quieted (though interest remains heightened) as authorities continue to investigate the July 11 and 13 incidents that led to the deaths of homeowner Jonah Shacknai's son and girlfriend. Little is known outside of the fact that detectives have yet to declare either case a criminal matter.

Some of what happened last week will carry over to the new week. For instance, we'll see how the community fares with Caltrans' work on the bridge, which began Sunday, and how elected officials react to redistricting plans.
