“NADO Welcomes USS Coronado” Youth Poster Contest

The deadline is Feb.20.

Editor's Note: The City of Coronado Cultural Arts Commission released the following call for entry.

All Coronado school children, kindergarten through 12th grade, are invited to enter a poster contest commemorating and welcoming Coronado’s namesake, the Navy’s newest littoral combat ship, the USS Coronado.

Sponsored by the Coronado Cultural Arts Commission (CAC), the VFW Post 2422, and the USS Coronado Commissioning Committee, the poster contest will begin Feb. 3 and end with submissions due in school offices on Thursday, Feb. 20.

Winners will be notified on March 3. Students are asked to create a poster that will reflect pride in our city and the US Navy and will welcome the newly commissioned ship to our hometown.
