House at Center of Dispute Sells

New owners have purchased the property designed by noted architect Homer Delawie.

After , the one-time owners of the house at 1010 Glorietta Blvd. have moved on, selling the residence to an architect and his wife.

The Sept. 19 sale was part of a private transaction between the previous owner, Mark Gosselin, and Wayne and Debbi Hunter, and included a nondisclosure agreement. The house has been assessed at $1.75 million, according to a property profile.

Word of the sale spread after neighbors saw the new owners moving in. Wayne Hunter recently sold a Mediterranean-style house at 1520 10th St.

Gosselin had attempted to demolish the house, but was stopped when the Save Our Heritage Organization (SOHO) requested that the state list it as a historical home. The modernist structure was built in the early 1960s by Homer Delawie, a noted local architect.

In January the state agreed, making the house eligible for listing on the National Register. A decision is pending.

Gosselin sued the city, and Coronado countered with a suit of its own. It's not clear how the sale will affect the suits. Both are still in play, according to a spokeswoman for the city.
