Google Gives the Curious a Glimpse Behind the Curtain

After years of secrecy, Google offers a virtual tour of its data centers.

While the Internet has become a part of our day-to-day lives, the data centers that drive everything tend to be kept out of the public eye.

It might not seem fair that Google can take pictures of just about everything from a satellite for Google Maps, and even more from terra firma for Street View, but it’s hidden its massive infrastructure from prying eyes.

That changed on Wednesday when Google unveiled a new site that provides an extensive look behind the curtains of the data centers that keep things humming all over the world.

Visit Google Data Centers for a look at the surprisingly colorful world of the Internet giant.

This is a great event. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make it a fun and enrichingRead More experience for my family. We need to get the word out about this helpful event in Coronado for the future. It was a learning experience for children and adults alike. I feel better now with my daughter riding her bike on the busy streets of Coronado. Thanks again to all of the Police Officers, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts and local volunteers.
