Coronado To Honor Wounded Warriors

Retired Naval officers will salute four service members with a special reception Sunday.

The city of , as well as their doctors, nurses and other caregivers, Sunday at the Coronado Community Center.

The reception, timed for Veterans Day, will include a dinner, provided by the Brigantine group of restaurants, and presentation of keys to the city by Mayor Casey Tanaka.

The event also will include guest speaker at Naval Medical Center San Diego.

The four honorees were picked from among veterans being treated at the center. Their stories will be shared during the reception.

The public is invited to join in and honor the men. Tickets are $40. Proceeds will cover meals for the wounded service members and other special guests. The ceremony begins at 5 p.m. Sunday in the community center's Nautilus Room. and return as sponsors, with the Del providing rooms to the four honored wounded warriors.

The event also includes nearly 20 Coronado restaurants that have agreed to host wounded warriors at their eateries over the Veterans Day holiday week. They are:
