Video: Coronado Delights in Santa, Lighting of the Community Tree

The community is treated to the parade, music and other holiday festivities, ending at Rotary Park.

Thousands of people Friday night lined Orange Avenue between Eighth Street and R.H. Dana for the 37th annual Coronado Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade. Children and parents waved and cheered marching units that included Marines, Coronado High School band, a car club, Boy and Girl Scouts, dancing groups, lifeguards and several floats. Following Santa's arrival on a firetruck, thousands made their way to Rotary Park for his and Mayor Casey Tanaka's lighting of the nearly 100-year-old tree. The Coronado Community Band performed after the tree lighting ceremony. The Chamber of Commerce also hosted a holiday Open House celebration.

It was so funny hearing the parade people tell the cops that "Santa is stalled. The fire truck stalled." LOL I love being at the beginning/end of the parade route. It is one of those things that get you in the holiday spirit!
