Video: Coronado Delights in Santa, Lighting of the Community Tree

The community is treated to the parade, music and other holiday festivities, ending at Rotary Park.

Thousands of people Friday night lined Orange Avenue between Eighth Street and R.H. Dana for the 37th annual Coronado Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade. Children and parents waved and cheered marching units that included Marines, Coronado High School band, a car club, Boy and Girl Scouts, dancing groups, lifeguards and several floats. Following Santa's arrival on a firetruck, thousands made their way to Rotary Park for his and Mayor Casey Tanaka's lighting of the nearly 100-year-old tree. The Coronado Community Band performed after the tree lighting ceremony. The Chamber of Commerce also hosted a holiday Open House celebration.

Please see , for the early photos and videos of Santa's arrival Friday afternoon and other events at the Ferry Landing.

This is a great event. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make it a fun and enrichingRead More experience for my family. We need to get the word out about this helpful event in Coronado for the future. It was a learning experience for children and adults alike. I feel better now with my daughter riding her bike on the busy streets of Coronado. Thanks again to all of the Police Officers, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts and local volunteers.
