SDSU Offers Online Green Industry Certificate Programs

SDSU’s College of Extended Studies will offer two online courses beginning in July that are part of its online green industry professional certificate programs.

Environmental Economics & Policy Making is offered July 2-Sept. 2 as part of the Professional Certificate in Green Energy Management.

In this course, students will learn how to apply the concepts of economics to environmental problem-solving and corporate decision-making by looking at a wide array of issues that affect modern businesses and governments. The course uses numerous case studies to challenge students to discuss, critique, and frame modern problems by harnessing the power of economics.

Global Sustainability and Future Trends will take place July 9-Sept. 9 and is included in the Professional Certificate in Residential and Commercial Sustainable Practices program.

This course will focus on international and national trends. Students learn the pros and cons around the world as the “political big picture” emerges for sustainability. Emerging technology programs will be discussed, such as the SDG&E energy programs. Students will use discussion boards, readings, global video interviews, and projects to understand other cultures, laws, and new trends in the global economy of sustainability.

The four current green-related certificate programs offered by SDSU’s College of Extended Studies include Green Building Construction, Green Energy Management, Residential and Commercial Sustainable Practices, and Water Management and Landscape Sustainability. Each online certificate program includes five courses and can be completed within one year. Individual courses may also be taken for career enhancement. These online programs are available to students 24/7.

All Green certificate programs are available for possible free training through Veteran and Military Spouse benefits or the Federal Workforce Investment Act. For more information, call (619) 265-7378 (SDSU) or visit www.neverstoplearning.net/green

This is a great event. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make it a fun and enrichingRead More experience for my family. We need to get the word out about this helpful event in Coronado for the future. It was a learning experience for children and adults alike. I feel better now with my daughter riding her bike on the busy streets of Coronado. Thanks again to all of the Police Officers, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts and local volunteers.
