Looking for a different type of summer camp to enroll your kid in? The Coronado Rec Department has some fun and different camps your kids will love.
Surf and Turf
No lobster or beef steak at this camp. Instead, 10-15 year will hit the waves each morning at Coronado Shores Beach. After the surf lesson, campers will venture onto the terra firma for rock climbing, geo caching, roller coasters at Belmont Park and more from 9:00am-3:00pm. There are three Surf and Turf weeks to choose: June 25-29, July 9-13, July 30 – Aug. 3.
Pick a week and register today since there is very limited space in each week of Surf and Turf. For more information on Surf and Turf or on other summer surfing programs or to register call The Recreation Department at 619-522-7342 or visit www.coronado.ca.us.
Adventures in the Wild
Let the adventure begin with Coronado Recreation Department’s new Adventures in the Wild Camp. From June 25-29 your 6-11 year old will take a walk on the wild side with Mad Science to explore animals, birds, bugs and beasts for an out of this world adventure! At the Coronado Community Center they will have some creepy, crawly fun from 1-4 p.m. each day as they build a bug house and fill it with new friends to take home.
Campers will explore the amazing ways animals adapt in the wilderness as they hunt down their tracks and make an animal track of their own. The discovery of what a night-hunting owl finds for dinner is one of many projects this exciting camp includes. For more information or to register for Adventures in the Wild Camp call 619-522-7342 or visit www.coronado.ca.us.
