Sing Along with the Boston Pops Without Leaving Coronado

Coronadoans, arguably the true residents of the Emerald City, get a chance to sing "Over the Rainbow" for thousands of Boston Pops fans.

An opportunity has presented itself for all of you Wizard of Oz fans out there—and it’s about to go viral.

The legendary orchestra known as the Boston Pops is inviting all of America to join in on a nationwide virtual sing-along. The orchestra celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2010 and is tipping its hats to the next 125 years by including fans with a love for a classic, Academy Award-winning song in each of its performances.

Famous for ending concerts with a sing-along for the entire audience, the Pops orchestra will end each night’s performance this season, which begins May 11, with (hopefully) you singing “Over the Rainbow.” The Pops is asking for video submissions of fans singing The Wizard of Oz classic for inclusion in a video collage to be shown at Pops performances throughout the season as well as on the Boston Pops website and Facebook and YouTube pages.
