The books are all donated from the community and stored in a warehouse donated by the Navy. After they’re brought to , they’re set up according to popular categories, such as fiction, Americana, business, religion, health and fitness, and the much-fitting home and garden.

“We get a ton of books,” Clapp said. “Fiction tends to be what we have the most of."

The books are priced for about a quarter of their original price and all proceeds go to the library, which Clapp said is “very fortunate and doing well,” unlike other libraries in San Diego County.

“[The book fair] is such a win-win,” Clapp said. “You get a new book, turn it in, someone else buys that book, turns it in. And we recycle everything that’s leftover.”

The three-day event is definitely a treasure-find for all book-lovers. Sunday's sale was half-off the already marked-down merchandise. If you missed out on this book-selling extravaganza, you can visit the in the back of the library and sift through more book findings to take home.
