Comic-Con 2012 Kicks Off With 'Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2' Cast

A Coronado Comic-Con fan took in news from the cast of the fourth and final installment of the "Twilight Saga" and found there's already talk of a future reboot of the franchise.

Anticipating this is likely the last time the most famous vampires of our time would be seen together, Summit Entertainment brought the full cast of the final installment of the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 to Comic-Con Thursday.

A small press conference took place immediately before the cast was set to appear in the dark and cavernous Hall H, where loyal fans had camped outside for three days before this panel was scheduled to take the stage.

And just like they divided the last chapter of the Twilight Saga, the cast was split into two groups for the press conference.

First up was the Cullen clan, headed by Elizabeth Rease, with Jason Rathbone, Peter Facinelli, Nikki Reed, Ashley Green and Kellan Lutz. Most of the cast was visibly giddy, and the banter between them regarding the final days of filming resembled that of high school students chatting about the high jinks they’d been up at prom.

Besides talking about the eventual end to the years they've spent together filming Twilight, the cast was asked about their reactions to seeing throngs of fans lined up just to see them in person.

“Coming to Comic-Con and seeing all these people lined up for days puts it into perspective. It's amazing how movies in general can bring people together for something they are passionate about. Anytime something like this brings people together in a positive way is a good thing,” Lutz concluded.

During the press conference, there was no discussion regarding the tragic death of a Twilight fan who had been waiting in line a few days earlier and was struck by a car while crossing the street.

After 30 minutes, the second group was introduced – it included the big three: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, plus Twilight Saga author Stephanie Meyer and newcomer Mackenzie Foy, 11.

Nostalgia was the buzz word during the Q&A. The group was asked what they’ll miss most about filming the conclusion to the blockbuster movie run.

“I will miss showing up to work and knowing exactly what my character was like,” said Kristen Stewart. “The first year, when I started this movie, I would get nervous when I would show up to film. Now, year after year of filming the same character, it was very easy,” said a visibly reflective Stewart.

Stewart, for the most part took control of the crowded press conference, and unlike her early appearances at Comic-Con, she comfortably jumped on the microphone to answer questions.

Towards the end of the session, the cast was asked what they thought about talk of a future reboot of the franchise.

Again, it was Stewart who immediately replied, “I'm down with it. I don't have a problem with someone else taking up my role,” she added in a satisfied tone.

But Stephanie Meyers was quick to add a rebuttal to the same question. “I pity the person who tries to step into these roles, that's going to be really hard,” said the author looking longingly at Lautner, Pattinson and Stewart.

“This is what love is, and it's just not going to be the same,” added Meyers.
